Born in Berkeley, on March 18, 1912, she won the Anne Bremer Memorial Scholarship to study art at the CFSA under several of the Coit Tower artists, including Lucien Labaudt, Otis Oldfield, and Ralph Stackpole. She later became the art critic for the Oakland Tribune. Clement died in the Bay Area suburb of Walnut Creek on March 6, 1997, just shy of her 85th birthday.
